Native Watercraft Ultimate FX 15 PRO Tandem is a 465 cm hybrid kayak with an open, canoe-style interior and a patented tunnel hull. The FX 15 is the two-person version of the series. Fish as a pair, or move the front seat to the centre and paddle alone with all your camping gear. The 272 kg capacity lets you carry two people, a tent, food and fishing tackle for a multi-day trip.

Ultimate FX 15 design

Tunnel hull
The patented, redesigned tunnel hull has two longitudinal ridges, so the kayak sits wide and stable on the water. You can stand up, look around and cast a lure. Between the ridges there is more room for your feet, so standing is more comfortable than on a flat deck.

Two together or one alone

Both seats have a high and a low position: sit low when paddling into the wind, high when fishing or watching the water. The seats slide forward and back so the kayak is properly balanced. Paddling alone, the front seat moves to the centre and the kayak again sits evenly in the water.

Room for gear

The open interior lets you stack crates, cooler bags, backpacks and camping gear from either side. At the bow and stern there is open storage with bungee cord, and the seat bases have storage boxes for small items. The anchor trolley lets you move the anchor to the front or rear so the kayak faces the right way for the wind or current.

Weight and capacity

The hull weighs 36.3 kg, and about 40.8 kg fully rigged. Capacity is 272 kg. Two adults of 90 kg each with gear for a multi-day trip fit with a margin. The kayak is easiest to carry with two people, holding the handles at the bow and stern.

Transport and care

The 465 cm kayak is carried on a roof rack with kayak cradles or on a trailer. Two people can carry it to the water by the soft handles at the bow and stern, and for longer distances you can use a kayak cart. The polyethylene hull isn't afraid of knocks on rocks and sand. Just rinse it with fresh water and store it in the shade so the sun doesn't fade the colours.

Who is the Ultimate FX 15 PRO Tandem for?

How does it differ from the Ultimate FX 12? The FX 12 is a single-seater with a 371 cm length and a 27.2 kg hull. The FX 15 is 94 cm longer, has two seats and carries 272 kg instead of 159 kg. If you mostly paddle alone and want a lighter kayak, choose the FX 12; if you paddle as a pair or with a lot of gear, the FX 15.
