The main differences are length, weight and who the kayak suits best. The Alboran FX is the longest (408 cm), the fastest and the best suited to big waters. The Supernova FX is mid sized with the highest load capacity (up to 200 kg payload). The Wildcat is the shortest and lightest, built for mobility.
Who is the Galaxy Alboran FX for?
Galaxy Alboran FX is the longest model, so it tracks best and covers distance fastest. Its 408 cm length makes it great for big lakes, the Curonian Lagoon and longer routes where you need to paddle or pedal efficiently for longer periods.
The kayak has lots of room for gear, a dedicated battery compartment and a ready made spot for mounting a sonar. A stable hull with a stand up pad lets you stand comfortably while fishing. A serious fishing platform for long day trips.
Choose the Alboran FX if: you paddle on big waters, fish for long periods, and speed and room for gear matter to you.
Who is the Galaxy Supernova FX for?
Galaxy Supernova FX is a little shorter than the Alboran but has the highest load capacity of all three models, up to 200 kg payload. That means it suits heavier paddlers or those who carry a lot of gear.
It is more manoeuvrable than the Alboran, so it is handy on smaller lakes where you need to change direction often and get close to the shore or reed beds. Stability is excellent and fishing standing up is comfortable.
Choose the Supernova FX if: you fish smaller lakes, load capacity and stability matter to you, and you want a versatile kayak for medium distances.
Who is the Galaxy Wildcat for?
Galaxy Wildcat is the lightest and shortest pedal kayak in the Galaxy range. Its advantage is mobility: easy to transport, quick to set up, and it fits on a roof rack with no extra equipment.
The Wildcat has built in wheels, so you can get it from the car to the water on your own. Although it is the smallest, it still has rod holders and a rail system for accessories. It suits shorter fishing trips and those who often change fishing spots.
Choose the Wildcat if: you transport the kayak on your own, fish in shorter sessions, and mobility matters more to you than space.

If you paddle on big waters and fish for long periods, the Alboran FX will be the most comfortable platform. Safety on the water

Does the pedal system work in shallow water?
The pedal system works well from a depth of about 40 cm. In shallower water you need to raise the pedals and paddle. All three models allow this, as the pedal unit is removable.
Can you use these kayaks without the pedals, with just a paddle?
Yes. All Galaxy Kayaks pedal models also work without the pedal system, as a regular sit on top kayak with a paddle. The pedal system is easy to remove when you do not need it.
Which model is best for a beginner?
