NuCanoe SideKick Cart: wheels for a loaded NuCanoe kayak

NuCanoe SideKick Cart is a kayak wheel system made for NuCanoe U10, UNLIMITED and UNLIMITED MAX kayaks. The wheels attach to the side Gunwale and Deck Track rails, so you can wheel a kayak with its motor and gear to the water without a separate cart. Once the kayak is afloat, the wheels can be raised or removed.

How the SideKick is installed

Attaching to the side tracks
The SideKick attaches to the Gunwale and Deck Track rails using the adapter plates in the kit. No hull modification is needed. The UMAX kayak uses the supplied spacers; the U10 and UNLIMITED do not need them.

The kayak rolls with all its gear
With the wheels down, the kayak rests on them and is easy to roll from the car to the water, even with a motor and battery. The manufacturer recommends carrying no more than 34 kg of extra equipment.

Compatible with the two seat layout
The SideKick can also be used on an UNLIMITED kayak with two seats, but the seat position and the distance between them change slightly. In other configurations the wheels do not interfere.

The SideKick is especially handy when a kayak with its motor, battery and fishing gear is too heavy to lift onto an ordinary cart. The wheels are already attached to the kayak, so there is nothing to assemble at the water: lower the wheels, lift the front of the kayak and roll.
