NRS knife case Pilot (spare)

NRS Pilot knife sheath there is a spare Thumbs Up case that fits NRS PilotNRS Titanium Pilot and NRS Pilot SAR knives. It comes in handy when you have several PFDs and do not want to move the sheath over every time. It is also a good spare if the original sheath has been lost or worn out.

How the Thumbs Up case works

Flexible hinge instead of buckle

The Thumbs Up sheath has no buckles or straps. A flexible plastic hinge holds the knife: push the knife in, it clicks and stays in place. To pull it out, just lift the handle with your thumb. This frees the knife with one hand, even when the other is holding a rope or paddle.

Attachment to a life jacket

The sheath attaches to the PFD's lash tab, which most river and sea PFDs have. Its low profile stops ropes and bag straps from snagging on it. The ambidextrous design lets you fit the sheath on either side of the PFD.

Care

Rinse the sheath with fresh water after use. If over time it starts to hold the knife more loosely, tighten the small screw below the NRS logo with a #6 Torx key. Do not use other screwdrivers, as you will damage the screw head, and the warranty does not cover such damage.

Does this sheath fit the NRS Co-Pilot knife?

No. NRS Co-Pilot and Titanium Co-Pilot are shorter and have their own NRS Co-Pilot knife sheath. This sheath fits only the Pilot series knives listed above.
