Bonafide XTR140P
Price range: € 5 500,00 through € 7 200,00
The Bonafide XTR140P is a 427 cm fishing kayak with an extremely stable platform made for stand-up fishing and an electric motor.
✔ 102 cm width and a flat deck: stand and cast all day without thinking about balance
✔ 329 kg capacity: room for the angler, batteries, a fish finder and a full day of gear
✔ X-Range pedal system (optional): hands free for the rod, and you hold position without a paddle
✔ PivotPro swivel seat on a 107 cm rail: the workstation reconfigures to your fishing method
✔ Four colors and PowerLink connectors: electronics mount without a tangle of wires
Bonafide XTR140P is a 427 cm long sit-on-top fishing kayak built on the most stable platform Bonafide has made so far. It is the first XTR series model designed together with a pedal system, so the same fishing kayak can be paddled, driven with X-Range pedals, or powered by an electric motor.

Key features
- Stability for stand-up fishing - the 102 cm width and flat hull let you stand both when casting and when fighting a fish
- 329 kg capacity - the angler, two batteries, a fish finder and a full day of gear
- Efficient hull - less drag means a longer motor range on the same battery
- 61 x 203 cm open walk-around deck - free space for casting and moving back and forth
- 56 x 84 cm standing platform - a higher vantage point to spot fish in the shallows
- PivotPro swivel seat on a 107 cm track - the seat can be repositioned along the full length of the kayak
- X-Range pedal system - installs in seconds, comes off completely, with two storage spots on the deck
- Integrated SpringBlade rudder - controlled by feet with a motor or by hand with pedals
- 61 x 38 x 23 cm under-deck storage and a 33 x 38 cm sealed front hatch
- PowerLink mounts at the front, middle and rear - electronics are mounted wirelessly through the deck
- Lift-up bow - a drier ride in chop
- Made in the USA made of rotomoulded polyethylene
Stability and hull

Stand all day
The XTR140P platform is built so that standing is not a separate manoeuvre. Casting, chasing a fish and walking the length of the deck all happen without hunting for balance or grabbing the seat. It is often the difference between spotting the fish in the shallows before it spots you.

A hull that saves battery
The hull lines combine two things that normally work against each other: high stability and low drag. In practice, the same electric motor on the same battery goes further, and the kayak pedals more easily than wide hulls usually allow you to expect.

X-Range pedal system
X-Range drops in within seconds with no extra fixings and comes out just as quickly if you want a pure motor platform with a clear deck. With the pedals down, your hands stay free for the rod: sneak up on a school of fish, hold position in a current, or tow a fish back to the boat without putting the rod down. The kayak is available with or without this system.

A deck that stays out of the way
The deck is open and walkable, with nothing sticking up in the casting zone. Tracks run the full length with new storage rails for mounting fish finder screens, rod holders and cameras. The middle rail is for quickly deploying a sonar transducer. There are several motor mounting configurations and several screen positions on the side and the front deck.

Lakes, rivers and bays
The raised bow pushes waves to the sides so you stay drier in chop, and the shallow draft lets you go where a boat can't. With 329 kg capacity and a reconfigurable seat, the kayak converts from a solo stand-up fishing setup to a two-person kayak.
Design diagram

The diagram numbers twenty design features. Here is what each number means:
- An open-water hull built for tougher conditions
- High stability and capacity at the front, so you can stand on the deck
- A hull optimised for efficiency with the pedal system and electric motors
- X-Range pedal system with remote steering and two storage positions
- Integrated SpringBlade steering system
- PivotPro swivel seat on a 107 cm adjustable track
- 61 x 203 cm open walk-around deck layout
- 56 x 84 cm standing platform on the upper deck
- Roomy 61 x 38 x 23 cm under-deck storage box
- X-Range storage position under the deck platform
- Long-term X-Range storage position at the stern
- Centre rail system for the sonar transducer, gear and rods
- Multiple transducer mounting positions in the centre well and at the stern
- Multiple screen mount positions on the side rail and front deck
- PowerLink mounts for electronics at the front, middle and rear
- 33 x 38 cm sealed front hatch with gasket, made for waves
- 14 scupper drain holes for tougher conditions
- Foot-operated rudder for stern-mounted motors
- Manual rudder control when using the pedal system
- Converts to a two-person setup with the PivotPro seat
What does 329 kg capacity mean?
Bonafide states a single figure: 329 kg. It includes the kayak itself, so you have to subtract to work out the usable load. With an empty 77 kg hull, about 252 kg remains for payload, and with a fully equipped 84 kg kayak about 245 kg. The manufacturer separately notes that this limit is set not at the sinking point but at the point where the kayak's performance noticeably degrades.
What it looks like in practice:
- An 85 kg angler with 45 kg of gear (fish finder, battery, rods, crate, paddle, life jacket) is about 130 kg, which is roughly half the permitted payload
- A 100 kg angler with 60 kg of gear and a motor is about 160 kg, still with a good margin
- Two people in a tandem configuration with gear is about 200 kg, already close to the limit, but it fits
IMPORTANT: Bonafide doesn't publish any optimal range, so we don't invent one. The practical rule is simple: the closer you get to 245 kg of usable payload, the deeper the kayak sits, the slower it moves and the smaller the margin left when standing. When choosing how much gear to take, it's worth adding up everything, not just your own weight: a fish finder with a battery, a set of rods and a crate easily make 40-60 kg.
Who is the Bonafide XTR140P for?
- Anglers who spend most of their time fishing standing up and want free space to cast
- Anyone who fishes with an electric motor and a fish finder, not just a paddle
- Tournament anglers who need to carry plenty of rods and gear
- Anglers working shallows and bays where a boat can't go
- Those who want one kayak for paddling, pedalling and a motor instead of three different ones
Bow to Stern overview
The XTR140P is made for the angler who doesn't want to choose between stability, speed and propulsion. The kayak comes in four colours, with or without the X-Range pedal system, and both versions share the same hull and the same gear mounting system.
