In Lithuania an inflatable SUP board can be bought in a dozen different places, and the price can vary twofold for a similar looking board. The difference usually lies not in the board itself but in what you get with it: who is responsible after the sale, whether spare parts are available, and whether you can see the board before buying. This article is about what is worth checking, whoever you buy from.
Let us be upfront: VAKA Sport does not have a physical shop. We are an online shop with warehouses. How to see a product in person in that case is described on the page Where to see the gear in person.
Four types of seller in Lithuania
1. Marketplaces
Pigu.lt, Varlė.lt and similar platforms do not make paddle boards themselves and usually do not hold them in their own warehouse. They connect the buyer with the seller. The choice is huge and delivery is fast, but the listing does not always make it clear who the actual seller is and who to call if the board starts losing air. It is worth checking who is listed as the seller: some products there are sold by us.
2. Large sports and retail chains
The advantage is clear: you can touch the board in the store, and returns are simple. The drawback is just as clear: the range is narrow, usually one or two models a season, and the sales assistant covers ten other sports too. If you just want some board this week, this is the most convenient route.
3. Specialist water sports sellers
This is where VAKA Sport fits. The range is deeper, the advice more specific, and spare parts and accessories for the same model are often still available years later. In return, most of these sellers do not have large showrooms, so you need to arrange a viewing in advance.
4. Private listings
The cheapest route and the riskiest. A used inflatable board can look flawless, yet a seam can start leaking after the second inflation. There is no warranty and no seller liability. If you buy used, at least inflate it to working pressure and wait an hour before handing over the money.
Seven questions before you buy
These questions work for any seller and separate a serious offer from a nice photo.
- What warranty is there and who handles it? What matters is not only the period but who will take the board in for repair.
- Is the price for the complete set? Some cheap offers quote a price without the paddle or the pump.
- What is the board's weight and load capacity? If these numbers are not on the listing, the seller simply does not have them.
- Will spare parts be available in two years? Fin, valve, repair kit. These are the parts most often replaced.
- Can you see or try it before buying? At least inspect the packed board.
- Who delivers and how much does it cost? A paddle board backpack is a large parcel, and the delivery price can be a surprise.
- Does the seller answer a technical question? Ask what the working pressure is and what the material is. The quality of the answer tells you everything.
What VAKA Sport offers in concrete terms
We only write what we can confirm.
- 2-year warranty on everything for private customers under the Lithuanian Civil Code. The terms are set out on the page Delivery, returns and warranty.
- Official representation. We are the official representative in the Baltic states for eight brands: Galaxy Kayaks, Bonafide, NRS, Native Watercraft, Point 65, YakAttack, Railblaza and Baltic Lifejackets. For NuCanoe, we are the only official NuCanoe importer in Europe. We carry Amber, JBAY.ZONE and WildSup paddle boards and sell them with the manufacturer's warranty. You will find the full list on the page Brands.
- Test paddles. Arranged individually depending on the season and model.
- Viewing at the warehouse by appointment. We have four warehouses. They are working premises, not shops, so a visit needs to be arranged by phone in advance.
- We don't have a physical shop. There is no showroom you can drop into during opening hours. That is a deliberate choice: a showroom would mean a narrower range and higher prices.
If you live in a big city, you may also find our separate articles on where to buy and where to paddle useful: Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda.
What each type really means for the buyer
Below is not a ranking but a simple map. Each type gives you something and leaves something out, and the right choice depends on what matters more to you.
| What matters | Marketplace | Large chain | Specialist seller | Listing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Depth of range | Large but shallow | Narrow | Deep in one area | Random |
| Product in store | No | Yes | Usually by appointment | Depends on the seller |
| Technical advice | Limited | General | Specific | None |
| Warranty | Depends on the seller listed | Yes | Yes | None |
| Spare parts years later | Rarely | Rarely | Usually yes | No |
| Option to try on the water | No | No | Sometimes | Sometimes |
The table sums up the types, not specific companies. Every group has better and worse sellers, so before buying it is still worth asking the seven questions from the previous section.
What official representation means
The word representative is used loosely in marketing, so it is worth knowing what it gives the buyer. An official representative has a direct contract with the manufacturer. In practice this means three things: warranty claims are handled directly with the factory rather than through a chain of middlemen; spare parts are ordered from the same source as the product; and technical information comes from the manufacturer, not a reseller's description.
For inflatable paddle boards this matters for the two parts that fail most often: the valve and the fin box. If the seller has a direct channel, a valve gets replaced in a few days, not a season.
Delivery and returns
An inflatable paddle board ships as a single backpack weighing 12 to 20 kg, so the delivery price differs from a standard small parcel, and it does not always fit in a parcel locker. Before paying, check whether the price with delivery is shown upfront or added at the last step. We deliver across Lithuania, the Baltic states, Poland and other EU countries, and goods bought online can be returned within 14 days. Refunds are made within 14 days of receiving and inspecting the returned item.
How much does an inflatable paddle board cost in Lithuania
The inflatable paddle boards in our range currently cost from 139 to 1 399 EUR. At the cheaper end are single layer Drop-Stitch boards for a first season, in the middle are reinforced models, and at the top are double layer boards that hold 20 PSI or more.
Below are three models that show how what you get changes with the price. All three are in stock, and the price and stock level on the product pages are shown live.
First season: Amber ACE 10.0 V2, 305 cm, 9 kg, recommended load capacity 110 kg.
When you paddle every week: JBAY.ZONE Delta D2, 320 cm, 81 cm wide, 8 kg, volume 305 l, reinforced single layer Drop-Stitch, made in Italy.
For the long term: NRS Clipper, 335 cm, 69 cm wide, 9.2 kg, volume 216 l, Z/Blend woven polyester core and a Bravo valve. NRS is one of the brands we officially represent in the Baltic states.
Specific recommendations by budget and weight are set out in the article Best inflatable paddle boards for beginners 2026.
When to buy
The inflatable paddle board season in Lithuania is short, so the market rhythm is clear. In May and June the choice is widest, but so is demand. In July and August the most popular sizes and colours are often sold out, and stock is not replenished straight away. In autumn and winter the choice is narrower, but prices are calmer and delivery is faster.
The practical takeaway for a first time buyer: if you know you will paddle next summer, do not buy in July. If you buy mid season, look first at what is actually in stock, not at what looks nicest in the catalogue. Our product pages show stock levels live, so you see the real situation that minute, not a seller's promise.
Frequently asked questions
Does VAKA Sport have a shop I can visit?
No. We do not have a physical shop. We have four warehouses, and you can view a specific model by arranging it in advance by phone. Details on the page Where to see the gear in person.
Can I try a paddle board before buying?
Yes, we arrange test paddles individually depending on the season and model. The date needs to be agreed in advance, as we bring the board to the location specially.
What warranty applies to paddle boards?
Private customers get a 2 year warranty on all products under the Lithuanian Civil Code. For business customers, the manufacturer's warranty terms apply.
Why does the same paddle board cost different amounts in different places?
There are three main reasons: a different set (with or without paddle and pump), a different model year within the same series, and a different delivery price, which is added separately for large parcels. Before comparing prices, check that you are comparing the same set.
Is it worth buying a used inflatable paddle board?
You can, but only after seeing it in person. Inflate the board to working pressure, wait at least an hour and check that the pressure has not dropped. Also check the valve and the fin box. A used board will have no warranty.
