Galaxy Kayaks anchor cleat is a small polypropylene cleat for quickly securing an anchor or mooring line. It fits all Galaxy Kayaks kayaks and is the standard anchor cleat on the new Galaxy Strike. It also works as a spare if your old one has broken or gone missing.

Design and use

For the anchor line
When the kayak is at anchor, wrap the line around the cleat and it will hold until you're ready to go. Releasing it takes a second, so you can lift the anchor quickly.

For mooring
You can also tie a mooring line to the cleat when you leave the kayak at a jetty or on the shore. The plastic doesn't rust, so the cleat is fine for sea use too.

Care

After fishing at sea, rinse the accessory with fresh water and let it dry. Check the screws now and then and tighten them if needed. Store it in the shade when not in use for a long time.

Anchoring from a kayak

Always drop the anchor from the bow or stern of a kayak, never from the side, so the kayak doesn't capsize in strong current or wind. Tie the line so you can release it quickly if needed. An anchor trolley works well with the cleat and lets you move the anchor point.
