How the folding shovel works

Only 24 cm folded
The handle folds along the blade, so the whole shovel becomes a package 24 cm long and 15.5 cm wide. That size is easy to put in a backpack side pocket, a boat storage box or a niche in the car boot. Unfolded, the length increases to 59 cm.

Two working positions
In the regular position it is a simple shovel for digging a hole or clearing snow. With the blade locked at a right angle to the handle, it becomes a hoe: handy for levelling a spot for a tent, digging a drainage trench or pulling out roots.

Steel blade and locking
The 22 x 15.5 cm blade is made of 1 mm thick 1050 carbon steel with a hardness of 42-46 HRC. That is hard enough that the blade does not bend when driven into dense ground. A serrated locking joint holds the chosen position.

Folding handle
The handle is plastic and folds, with a ribbed locking ring on the shaft. The manufacturer stresses that the shovel unfolds and folds easily and quietly, so you can use it where you do not want to make noise.

A case for safe carrying
The included case is made of 600D polyester with PVC coating. It protects the contents of your backpack or boot from the blade edges. The case closes with a flap.
