Wilderness Systems RIDE 115 ADVANCE, a starting point in kayak fishing
The RIDE 115 ADVANCE is a clear starting point for those who want to move from traditional fishing to kayak fishing without investing in a high-end model straight away. It isn't a compromise: it's a deliberately designed platform where an entry-level price doesn't cut core comfort.
The 351 cm long, 86 cm wide sit-on-top hull offers a stable standing platform for most shallow coastal waterways, fish ponds and calmer sea bays. The ADVANCE is the entry point to the RIDE 115 series, but that doesn't mean it's unfinished.
Key features
✔ Phase 3 AirPro seatthis isn't a standard plastic shell. The AirPro system, with adjustable air cushion pressure and a five-point adjustable backrest, lets you tailor the seat to any back type. Long fishing days from morning to evening no longer feel like torture.
✔ Stable 86 cm platformThe RIDE 115's width-to-length ratio is chosen so you can stand to change rods, land fish and even take a break without shipping water. This is a key advantage for anglers working with a float rod or changing hooks.
✔ Front and rear storageroomy storage areas fit a standard 36 cm tackle crate. The rear deck area can also take a dry bag, while the front has sturdy handles for holding the paddle.
✔ Gen2 polyethyleneWS uses a double-density polyethylene blend that absorbs impacts better than single-layer HDPE. That means more knocks against rocky shores and less repair work.
✔ Ergonomic paddling anglethe seat height and front rod holder positions are designed so the paddle doesn't hit live bait wells or rods.
Hull and stability
The RIDE 115 uses standard WS sit-on-top sides with a wide flat-bottom construction, a platform that fully recovers its balance even when an angler suddenly leans to one side while landing a fish. Double reinforcement along the sides prevents long-term deformation when the kayak is stored on a dock or strapped to a car roof.
The specific side profile creates a slight V shaped keel in the bottom, which gives directional stability in calm and slow current water. This lets you fish with shorter paddle strokes, saving your arms over a long day.
Weight and load zones
Maximum load capacity: 136 kg. The optimal range is for an angler weighing 60–100 kg.
Green zone (70–95 kg): full stability, easy handling, the seat works best, easy to stand.
Blue zone (below 65 kg): the kayak sits high in the water, but that's no problem, paddling is just slightly easier.
Red zone (over 115 kg): stability decreases, we recommend the RIDE 115 X MAX Angler (159 kg max) or the RIDE 135 (159 kg max).
Fishing configuration
The RIDE 115 ADVANCE rigging includes: two fixed front rod holders, a rear deck area with four tie down loops and a thread for mounting a centre accessory (1/4-20 standard, compatible with Railblaza and YakAttack accessories). A paddle holder is integrated on the left side.
The fishing load on the kayak: a tackle crate, two rods and gear, with up to 30 kg stowed on deck. All this fits without exceeding the 136 kg maximum for an angler up to 95 kg.
Who the RIDE 115 ADVANCE is for
This model is for anglers who have no kayak fishing experience yet or simply want a simple, reliable platform for a local pond, river or coastal shallows. The ADVANCE is deliberately designed as a first kayak: a setup that needs no special training, because the intuitive design does the work.
Suits: beginner kayak anglers, anglers on lakes and rivers, and those who want a modest initial investment with the option to move up to a higher model later.
Not suitable for: heavy anglers (over 110 kg), or those who plan to fish the open sea or go on long expeditions.
