Installation

The set consists of the rod holder and a rectangular base with a ball joint. The base screws into the kayak's pre-drilled mounting points with four bolts. The holder attaches to the base and is set at the angle you want.

Adjustment and locking

The ball joint lets you point the rod in any direction and tilt it up to 90 degrees, so you can set the holder for trolling, waiting or carrying the rod while paddling. Once positioned, the holder locks in place.

Which rods fit

Almost any rod fits the holder. The manufacturer recommends a rod with a shorter handle and a lighter reel, as that suits kayak fishing best.

Care

After fishing at sea, rinse the accessory with fresh water and let it dry. Check the screws now and then and tighten them if needed. Store it in the shade when not in use for a long time.

How to arrange your rods

Rod holders are usually fitted behind the seat and on the sides, so rods don't get in the way of paddling and casting. For trolling it's handy to have holders on both sides, angled so the line doesn't touch the hull. When carrying a rod while paddling, secure it with a leash in case the kayak capsizes.
