NRS Bia 95 Travel Adjustable SUP Paddle (2-piece)

NRS Bia 95 Travel Adjustable is an adjustable travel SUP paddle. The shaft breaks down into two pieces, the longest being 94 cm, so the paddle is easy to take by plane, train or car. The fibreglass shaft and reinforced nylon blade are the same as on the one-piece Bia 95, and the whole paddle weighs 890 g.

Construction and controls

A shaft built for travel

The shaft is made of two pieces. Broken down, the paddle is no longer than 94 cm, so it fits in a larger suitcase or an inflatable board backpack. Assembly takes seconds, and the length is set with the LeverLock lever from 173 to 213 cm.

Blade: 613 cm², 10° angle

The blade is 18 cm wide and 48 cm long. The 10° angle helps it catch the water firmly, and a slight dihedral on the power face stabilises the stroke, so the blade does not flutter. The thin back face allows smooth turns, and the rounded tip glances off rocks on the river bottom more easily.

How it differs from the one-piece Bia 95

The blade, shaft material and length range are the same as the NRS Bia 95 Adjustable. The only difference is the two-piece shaft: it lets the paddle pack compactly, at the cost of about 70 g of extra weight.

NRS recommends choosing a paddle by your height and paddling style:

• for waves and faster water, a paddle about 20 cm longer than your height
• for touring, fitness, racing and yoga, a paddle about 25 cm longer than your height
