NRS neoprene gloves Maverick

The NRS Maverick are 2 mm neoprene gloves for cold water. They are waterproof, and the HydroCuff cuff stops water running off the paddle and into the glove.
✔ HydroCuff cuff – water from the paddle doesn't run into the glove
✔ 2 mm neoprene with titanium – keeps you warm, water runs off the surface and your hand doesn't cool down
✔ RawHide palm and sealed seams – firm grip and fully waterproof
✔ Pre-curved fingers – your hand tires less holding the paddle
NRS neoprene gloves Maverick are made for paddling in cold water. They keep water out and warmth in. The tough RawHide palm, fabric-free neoprene outer and liquid-sealed seams let you keep paddling in NRS Maverick gloves even after the warm season is over.

Main benefits of the NRS Maverick gloves
✓ 2 mm neoprene with titanium – the titanium laminate retains heat, keeping your hand warm in cold water
✓ Fabric-free neoprene outer – water runs off and doesn't evaporate from the surface, so your hand doesn't cool down
✓ Extend lining – four-way stretch inner layer for more flexible fingers
✓ RawHide palm – very firm grip on the paddle or oar shaft
✓ Sealed seams – together with the palm, make the glove fully waterproof
✓ Pre curved fingers – your hand tires less over a long day
✓ HydroCuff cuff – water from the paddle doesn't run into the glove
✓ Pairing clips – the gloves stay together and don't get lost
Construction and details

HydroCuff cuff
The cuff wraps the forearm and stops water running down the paddle from getting into the glove. This keeps your hand drier and warmer even when paddling all day. Once the glove is on, the cuff is folded back over the forearm.
How to put them on and take them off
NRS advises first folding the cuff up. Then slide your hand in with a twisting motion and fold the cuff back down over the forearm. To take the glove off, slide the thumb of your other hand under the cuff along the palm and push the glove off.
RawHide palm and sealed seams
The palm is made from durable RawHide material. It grips the paddle firmly and withstands abrasion. The seams are glued, blind stitched and sealed with liquid sealant, so the glove is fully waterproof.
Pre curved fingers
The fingers are pre-curved to match the natural position of the hand on the paddle. Your hand doesn't have to keep working against the neoprene, so it tires less.
Materials and specifications
Neoprene, titanium and Extend lining
The outer is 2 mm neoprene with no fabric covering, bonded with a titanium laminate. This surface doesn't absorb water, so your hand doesn't cool from evaporation. The stretchy Extend lining helps keep your fingers flexible. NRS rates these gloves for cold conditions.

How to choose the size of the NRS Maverick gloves
The size of NRS gloves is selected based on the dimensions of the hand. Measure the width across the palm at its widest point, below the fingers, do not count the thumb. Measure the length from the bottom of the palm at the wrist to the tip of the big finger. If the dimensions fall between two sizes, focus on the width: a neoprene glove that is too narrow will squeeze and tire the hand faster.
| Size | Hand width (cm) | Hand length (cm) |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 7,6 | 16,5 |
| S | 8,3 | 17,8 |
| M | 8,9 | 19,1 |
| L | 9,5 | 19,7 |
| XL | 10,2 | 20,3 |
| XXL | 11,4 | 21,6 |
Who are the NRS Maverick gloves for?
✓ Kayak and canoe paddlers in cold water in autumn, winter and spring
✓ Rafting guides and instructors who work long hours in cold water
✓ Sea kayakers whose hands are constantly wet from the paddle
✓ Paddlers who want a better-sealing cuff than a standard stretch one
How is the Maverick different from the NRS Catalyst? Both gloves are 2 mm and waterproof. The Maverick has a HydroCuff cuff, RawHide palm and pre-curved fingers, so it suits long days in cold water better. The Catalyst is lighter and easier to put on.
The NRS Maverick are well-sealed, warm neoprene gloves for the cold season. VAKA Sport is the official NRS dealer in the Baltic states, and these gloves come with a 24-month warranty.
