Point 65 Kingfisher Tandem is a modular two-person fishing kayak from Sweden. The trimaran hull allows for smooth sailing and stability, even when fishing standing up. Although the assembled kayak is 501 cm long, it disassembles into three parts, so it can be transported by car and stored without a trailer.

Construction and details

Three modules with Snap-Tap connection
The Kingfisher Tandem consists of a front, middle and rear module, which are connected using the patented Snap-Tap system. It takes seconds to connect and disassemble. The front and rear modules are each 166 cm long, and the middle module is 171 cm long, making each part easy to carry and load into the car.

From Tandem to Solo
No need to buy two kayaks. The Kingfisher Solo is the same kayak without the middle module. By removing the middle module, you can paddle alone with the 331 cm long kayak, and by putting it back in, the kayak becomes a two-seater again.

Trimaran hull
The trimaran hull provides stability, even though the kayak is only 79 cm wide. The narrower hull makes it faster and easier to keep course, making it convenient for two people to paddle to distant fishing spots.

Double steering wheel
The Kingfisher has two rudders on either side of the hull. They are hand-operated, making it easy to turn even the 501 cm long kayak.

GameChair seats and standing fishing
The GameChair has multiple adjustment settings, so you can adjust the position to suit your fishing style. The body is well-balanced, so you can fish confidently while standing.

ImpulseDrive ready
The kayak has slots for the ImpulseDrive pedal drive. You can use one or two gears. The drive is inserted into the slot and propels the kayak forward and backward with the power of your feet, leaving your hands free for fishing. It is easy and simple to use.

What does 260 kg load capacity mean?
The Kingfisher Tandem has a maximum load capacity of 260 kg. This includes the weight of both paddlers and all equipment carried. The kayak itself weighs 49 kg and is not included in the load capacity.
For example, a 90 kg and a 75 kg rower with 25 kg of equipment makes up 190 kg, leaving 70 kg of spare weight. Two 100 kg rowers with 40 kg of fishing equipment make up 240 kg, which is close to the limit. The manufacturer does not publish an optimal load range.
Who is the Point 65 Kingfisher Tandem suitable for?
✓ For two fishermen who want to kayak together
✓ For couples and families who spend time together on the water
✓ For those who don't have space for a long kayak or trailer
✓ For those who want one kayak for both solo and double kayaking
✓ For those traveling by car to different lakes and rivers
The Kingfisher Tandem is designed for fishing in calm waters, but it requires additional equipment when sailing in open or rough waters.
