Railblaza Rod Holder II is a Railblaza rod holder that fits reels of any size: spinning, baitcasting, sea or fly. The holder fits into any Railblaza StarPort base and rotates through 360 degrees, with 90 degrees of vertical tilt, so you can set the rod at exactly the angle you need for trolling or waiting.

Design and use

On a kayak
The holder can be fitted into a StarPort next to the seat or on a kayak track with the appropriate base. The rod stays within hand's reach, and you can pull the holder out in one motion when you need space.

On a boat and a sailboat
Holders are often fitted in pairs on the sides of a boat for trolling. Once you have set the angle, the rod stays safely in the holder, and the rotating ring stops it twisting when a fish pulls hard.

With the extender
If the rod needs to sit higher, for example above a seat back or a hatch, you can use the holder with the Railblaza Rod Holder Extender, which raises it by 12.5 cm.

A mounting base (StarPort or other) is not included. If you do not have a base, choose the Rod Holder II set with a StarPort base.

The Railblaza system

Railblaza accessories are designed and made in New Zealand. The whole system is built around a single StarPort connection standard: you fit the base once and swap accessories to suit what you are doing that day. The same base takes a rod holder, fish finder, camera, cup holder or flag, so there are fewer holes in your kayak or boat and fewer unneeded mounts.

Care

After fishing in saltwater, rinse the accessory with fresh water and let it dry. Check the moving parts from time to time for trapped sand. If the accessory is not used for a long time, store it in the shade.
