Railblaza Rod Holder II with a StarPort base is a kit that gets a rod holder installed straight away. It includes the universal Rod Holder II holder, a StarPort base, a sealing gasket with a cap and screws. Later you can fit other Railblaza accessories in the same base: a fish finder, camera mount or cup holder.

Design and use

StarPort base
The StarPort base is bolted to the deck or gunwale. The holder fits in and is locked with a slide lock, and when removed it leaves a clean base with a cap. With the gasket the joint stays sealed.

For trolling and waiting
Set the rod angle and leave it in the holder. The rear lock stops the rod jumping out when the boat rocks, and the rotating ring reduces rod twist when a fish bites.

The screws in the kit are for fastening to a solid surface. Inflatable boats and paddle boards need an adhesive Railblaza base, which is not included in this kit.

The Railblaza system

Railblaza accessories are designed and made in New Zealand. The whole system is built around a single StarPort connection standard: you fit the base once and swap accessories to suit what you are doing that day. The same base takes a rod holder, fish finder, camera, cup holder or flag, so there are fewer holes in your kayak or boat and fewer unneeded mounts.

Care

After fishing in saltwater, rinse the accessory with fresh water and let it dry. Check the moving parts from time to time for trapped sand. If the accessory is not used for a long time, store it in the shade.
