YakAttack aluminium fishing pliers for the kayak angler

YakAttack aluminium fishing pliers are an 18 cm fishing tool built for both saltwater and freshwater. Use them to remove a hook, cut line, open a split ring or crimp a sleeve. They are made from aircraft-grade aluminium, so they are light and corrosion resistant, and the included sheath and coiled lanyard keep them from getting lost in the kayak.

YakAttack pliers stainless steel jaws
Stainless steel jaws and replaceable cutters
Stainless steel inserts in the jaws let the pliers grip the hook firmly and twist it out without harming the fish. At the tip there is a small hook for opening stiff split rings. Tungsten carbide cutters on the sides cut even braid cleanly and can be replaced when dull.

Aircraft-grade aluminium body
The body is made from aircraft-grade aluminium. It does not corrode in saltwater and weighs less than steel pliers, so your hand does not tire over a long day of fishing. The handle length gives enough leverage for cutting and crimping sleeves.
YakAttack pliers sheath with coiled lanyard
Sheath with coiled lanyard
The nylon sheath clips onto your belt and the coiled lanyard connects it to the pliers. If the pliers slip out of your hand over the water, they stay hanging. The lanyard stretches, so it does not get in the way while you work.

How to carry the pliers in a kayak

The nylon sheath clips onto a belt or waistband, so the pliers are right where your hand reaches for them when the fish is already at the boat. The coiled lanyard links the pliers and the sheath: if they slip out of a wet hand, they hang instead of sinking. In a kayak, where you do everything seated and in one spot, this matters a lot.

If you prefer to keep the pliers on your life jacket, you can attach them to the YakAttack Clip-On Retractor. The pliers then pull out to your hand and return to place on their own.

Care

After fishing in saltwater, rinse the pliers in fresh water and let them dry. This keeps the cutters sharp and the hinge smooth for longer.

Who are the YakAttack aluminium fishing pliers for?

✓ Kayak anglers who want one tool for hooks, line and split rings

✓ Saltwater anglers, where ordinary steel rusts quickly

✓ Lure anglers who often change trebles and lures

✓ Anglers who fish braid and want a clean cut
