The artist Eddie Colla and the board design

Eddie Colla studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York, graduated from the California College of Arts and worked for the New York Times. He became widely known in the US during the 2008 presidential election, when he began including images of the future president Barack Obama in his street art.

His style is bold and memorable at first glance. Urban colours and dark tones shaped the look of this board: street art aesthetics dominate the deck and bottom, not pastel summer colours. The manufacturer says Colla's art is recognisable, bold and dark toned, just like this board.

Construction and details

2LF Fusion: two layers without glue

The board is made of PVC laminated Drop-Stitch fabric with a second layer that is heat fused to the base without glue. According to the manufacturer, this construction is up to 25% lighter than a standard double layer board, with greater stiffness and durability. The board weighs 14 kg, has one air chamber, and the recommended pressure is 18-20 PSI (1.24-1.37 bar).

Carbon fibre paddle
The package includes an adjustable paddle with a carbon fibre shaft and a PVC blade (612 cm²). The length adjusts from 165 to 210 cm, so the paddle can be set to your height. An anti-twist joint keeps the blade from rotating while you paddle.

Bravo pump with pressure gauge
The Bravo hand pump (2x2000 cc) is designed for high pressure valves with a bayonet connection. A switch lets you pump in double action at the start and single action once the pressure is higher. The pressure gauge is built into the pump, so you see the pressure as you pump.

Action camera mount
The package includes a mount for a GoPro type action camera. Fit it to the board to film your outing from water level.

The manufacturer describes the Eddie Colla board as intuitive and precise. The 81 cm width and 304 L volume give good side stability.
