YakAttack LockNLoad track mount

YakAttack LockNLoad track base is the base used to mount YakAttack accessories with a LockNLoad connection on a kayak or boat track: rod holders, fish finder screen mounts, phone holders and camera poles. This track base solves a common track system problem: the holder twisting when the rod gets a sudden strike.

How the LockNLoad connection works

A toothed connection instead of friction
Ordinary track bases hold only by bolt clamping force: after a few stronger strikes they slowly turn and the holder drifts from the chosen angle. The LockNLoad base has a toothed ring that locks mechanically. The position changes only when you deliberately loosen the bolt, and on the water it doesn't budge.

A single MightyBolt bolt
Underneath is a sliding plate that slots into the track groove and a single MightyBolt bolt with a wide head. You tighten it with your fingers: no tools needed even on the water with wet hands. The same bolt lets you remove the base quickly when the kayak needs transporting or washing.

Inserts from the end of the track
The base slides on from the end of the track and moves to where you want it. Because it uses the standard track profile, the same base works with YakAttack GearTrac and with most other brands' tracks. FeelFree, 3 Water and Jonny Boats tracks also need the manufacturer's adapter.

Where to mount it
Most often the base goes in front of the seat, where it is easiest to see the fish finder screen and reach your phone. For rod holders the base goes on the side tracks behind the seat, so the rods do not get in the way of paddling. One kayak often needs two or three bases.

Who is the LockNLoad track base for?

The base is for kayak anglers who choose the YakAttack accessory system and want one standard across the whole kayak. It also suits those who already have another manufacturer's tracks and want a more reliable connection than a simple sliding base.

The base itself is only the foundation: the holder is bought separately. Directly connecting to it is the LockNLoad fish finder screen mount and RotoGrip Phone Holder Pro phone holder. If you don't have a track yet, you'll need one too, because the base doesn't attach without a track. VAKA Sport offers three YakAttack track series: GearTrac GT90 (aliuminis), GearTrac GTSL90 black (polimeras) ir GridLoc MightyMount XL (also made for the BlackPak Pro crate).

The base is made of glass fibre reinforced nylon, so it doesn't corrode or crumble in the sun. In practice this means the same base can be used in both fresh and salt water, and after the season rinsing with fresh water is enough.
