NRS Heron Fishing SUP Board (335 cm)

Construction and fishing details

YakAttack accessory mounting

Two YakAttack mounting bases sit on the side chambers, so they are convenient for mounting rod holders. The third is in the centre of the deck, the fourth nearer the nose. You can attach a fish finder mount, camera pole or other YakAttack system accessories to them.

Cargo space

At the nose there is a bungee net for securing a cooler or tackle box. At the tail there are six D-rings for setting up your own cargo tie-down. A stainless steel D-ring is for the safety leash, so the board always stays close to you.

IST Concave and V-Hull shape

Three chambers along the rails form a concave that channels water back towards the fin. The board paddles more quietly, which matters when you need to approach fish unnoticed. The V-shaped nose helps you get to the fishing spot faster and straighter.

Pressure, deck and handles

The main chamber inflates to 20 PSI (1.38 bar), and the side chambers need just 5 PSI (0.34 bar). The textured EVA foam deck grips your feet even when wet. Three handles let one or two people carry the board, and the centre one is wrapped in neoprene. Double side rails increase durability, and the Bravo valve lets the deflated board roll up tighter.

Can you fish standing up on the NRS Heron?

Yes, the Heron is made for exactly that. The 99 cm width, 412 L volume and low-set deck give the stability you need to watch the water, cast and land a fish while standing. The manufacturer recommends it for a paddler with gear from 45 to 136 kg.

When fishing on the water, it is worth wearing a life jacket with pockets, for example the NRS Chinook Fishing PFD.

Usage tip

In sun and heat the air pressure inside the board rises. The manufacturer advises releasing some air or fully deflating the board in these conditions, so the seams are not damaged.
