✔ Cordura 1000D cover: resistant to abrasion and moisture, doesn't get damp from wet grass

✔ Carried on the belt behind your back: hands and backpack stay free
✔ Foam filling: separates you from a cold and wet surface, weighs only 200 g
M-TAC sit pad with strap is a compact 24 x 36 cm foam pad that is carried clipped to the belt and dropped down when you sit. In the cold season the seat pad protects your waist and pelvis from chill when you have to sit on wet ground, stone, concrete or snow.

Materials and construction

Cordura 1000D cover
The cover is sewn from Cordura 1000D, a nylon fabric with an abrasion resistance of more than 50,000 cycles. Such fabric doesn't wear through when the pad is dragged over stones or concrete and doesn't absorb water, so after rain it's enough to wipe it off by hand. It's because of this material that the pad lasts several seasons of daily use.

Fastex buckle and adjustable strap
The pad attaches to the belt with a wide strap with a fastex buckle. The strap length is adjustable, so the pad sits equally well on a thin trouser belt and on a tactical belt with a vest. The buckle opens with one hand, including with gloves.

Always at hand but never in the way
The carried pad hangs behind your back at the waist and doesn't catch on the backpack or when walking. When you sit it's simply dropped down, and when you stand it returns to its place: there's nothing to take out of the backpack and pack away again. In practice this means the pad is used at every stop, not only on longer breaks.
Who is the M-TAC seat pad for?
A seat pad with a belt is one of those inexpensive items that changes a day outdoors a lot. It suits anglers who sit on wet bank grass, hunters in stands, photographers waiting for a shot, parents at training grounds and everyone who works or serves outdoors all year round.
The main difference from an ordinary foam seat pad is the cover and the mounting system: foam without a cover crumbles and wears out within a season, while the Cordura cover protects it. Carried on the belt, the pad doesn't vanish at the bottom of a backpack, so it actually gets used.
The pad weighs about 200 g and needs no care; when dirty, just wash it with water and dry it at room temperature. Don't dry it near an open fire or a radiator: the foam can deform.
Care and storage
The Cordura 1000D cover needs no special care. When dirty, just wipe it with a damp cloth or wash it in cold water with neutral soap. Dry the pad at room temperature, away from a radiator and open fire, because the inner foam deforms at high temperatures and loses some of its insulating properties.
The pad is best stored uncompressed and unsqueezed. Stored for a long time under heavy things, the foam flattens and recovers slowly. If the pad got wet on the outside, it must be fully dried before putting it in a cupboard so the cover doesn't develop a smell.
